Ornament

My friend Georgia made this ornament for me during a Christmas craft exchange.  And thought it would be a GREAT project for anyone, but especially kids to make as christmas gifts.

It's so easy and so cute and looks great on our tree.  Print two candy canes on card stock (or any image).  Cut them out.  Color them and tape a picture behind it and shizam, you have a great and fun christmas ornament.

Grandparent Birthday Gift

We are terrible about gifts for grandparents.  So this year we decided to do something a little bit different.  It was Grandpa's birthday and so Amelie and I talked about all the reasons she loves her Grandpa.  She really only came up with one on her own but when I asked her questions she would answer yes and so we would write those down. "I Love Grandpa Because...." Then Ben wrote 5 things he loved about his dad and I wrote 5 things I loved about his dad too.  We then put them all in the mail to his wife - Ben's mom.  Once she got the package she hid the hearts all over the house for him to find.  Each time he found one he was reminded of just how much we love him.

Once she hides them all, she'll give him an envelope with a card wishing him happy birthday and explaining what's happening.  It's a fun way to remind the grandparents why we love them while wishing them a Happy Birthday when you can't be there to celebrate with them in person!
